Families in Jersey can now apply for the Back to School Bonus, a one-off payment designed to help cover uniforms, stationery and other essentials for children from reception through Year 11. The scheme offers up to £150 per eligible child, with £100 allocated for primary school pupils and £150 for secondary school pupils. The funding, announced in April, is available to parents who do not receive income support and have a combined household income of £75,000 or less.

The application deadline is Friday 31 July, and eligible payments are expected to reach bank accounts in August. The government noted that parents on income support will automatically receive the bonus in August and will not need to apply. The Government of Jersey said the fund had been designed to help families facing cost-of-living pressures.
