Sir David Beckham has achieved a significant financial milestone, becoming the United Kingdom's first billionaire sportsman. His and wife Lady Beckham's combined wealth is now estimated at £1.1 billion. This notable achievement coincides with the debut of Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher on the annual Sunday Times Rich List, which chronicles the financial standing of the UK's 350 wealthiest individuals and families. The Gallagher brothers' collective fortune is reportedly valued at £375 million.

Leading the prestigious list for the fifth consecutive year are brothers Sanjay and Dheeraj Hinduja, whose combined wealth stands at an impressive £38 billion. The Hinduja Group, which they manage, boasts extensive global operations spanning the oil, gas, banking, and transport sectors. This year's list also highlights significant gains for Nik Storonsky, a co-founder of the fintech firm Revolut, and Alex Gerko, a prominent trading entrepreneur, who are identified as the biggest risers in wealth.

The Sunday Times Rich List report indicates a current total of 157 billionaires residing in the UK, a figure that represents a decrease of 20 individuals compared to four years prior. In a notable shift, King Charles III's estimated wealth has seen an increase of £40 million, bringing his total to £680 million and elevating him to the 230th position on the list. This financial growth now places the monarch ahead of former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife Akshata Murty, whose combined estimated worth is £563 million.

Conversely, the list also marks declines for some prominent figures. Inventor Sir James Dyson experienced a substantial decrease in his wealth, falling by £8.8 billion to £12 billion. Similarly, Manchester United part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe saw his fortune diminish from £17 billion to £15.19 billion. A new entrant to the list is Emily Eavis, the organizer of the Glastonbury Festival, and her family, who possess an estimated fortune of £400 million. Reflecting on the festival's financial standing last year, Eavis stated, "As much as there is talk about our profit, which we do still need to have in order to recover and also to get land, we also try to give away as much money as we can, which is really, I think, at the heart of it." She further emphasized her commitment to preserving the festival's ethos, expressing a strong aversion to selling out the event.

Several well-known personalities, including Sir Elton John, Lord Lloyd-Webber, Sir Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, J.K. Rowling, Charlotte Tilbury, Sir Brian May, and Sir Lewis Hamilton, are featured in this year's survey. The compilation of the Rich List reveals a trend of geographical shifts among its wealthy constituents. According to The Sunday Times, at least 15 foreign nationals previously listed have been removed due to relocating their residences. Furthermore, nearly one-third of the UK citizens featured on the list no longer reside on the British mainland.

Robert Watts, the compiler of the Rich List, described the current survey as "a tale of two exoduses." He noted that one in six individuals and families who appeared on the list two years ago are absent this time. Watts also pointed out the departure of many foreign billionaires who had been living in the UK but have since moved abroad. Concurrently, there has been a notable increase in British nationals establishing residency in Dubai, Switzerland, and Monaco. These individuals, by virtue of their UK nationality, continue to be included in the Rich List regardless of their current place of residence.

In a separate segment of the publication, boxer Tyson Fury is recognized as one of the debutants on the paper's "40 under 40 Rich List." This particular list showcases 34 entrants with self-made fortunes, and a significant portion, nearly a third, are associated with artificial intelligence start-ups based in London. The youngest billionaire on this sub-list is 33-year-old Ben Francis, founder of the sportswear brand Gymshark, whose estimated net worth is £800 million. Francis reportedly left university to dedicate his focus to building his successful brand.
